Cocina Cultural – A New Way to Experience Dining

Cocina Cultural began in 2006 with Chef Wanda Pantojas, a beloved culinary educator who inspired a generation of cooks and hospitality professionals. Her teaching went beyond recipes—it was about sharing knowledge, techniques, and traditions that shaped Puerto Rico’s growing culinary scene.

A New Era After the Pandemic

As Puerto Rico’s tourism and dining industries bounced back, the call for authentic culinary experiences grew stronger. Former students reached out once again—this time looking not only for training, but also for ways to share Puerto Rican cuisine and culture with visitors and with each other. From this need, Cocina Cultural took form: a place where food and knowledge are shared openly, across tables and generations.

The Concept: Eat • Learn • Cook

Cocina Cultural is a living experience of community built around three simple ideas:

  • Enjoy an elevated Tapas & Wine Bar that celebrates Puerto Rican flavors through creative small plates. Each dish is designed for sharing—sharing flavors, stories, and moments together.

  • Learning here is hands-on and communal. Whether through professional workshops, food safety training, or international chef residencies, Cocina Cultural is about sharing knowledge—from master chefs to rising talent, and from Puerto Rico to the world.

  • At its heart, Cocina Cultural is about sharing experiences:

    •Sharing food around the table.

•Sharing cultural traditions through immersive dinners.

•Sharing wisdom between chefs, students, and guests.

•Sharing Puerto Rico’s culinary identity with the world.

The Mission

To educate, empower, and elevate through the joy of sharing food and knowledge.

The Vision

Celebrate culture by sharing cuisine.

Inspire growth by sharing knowledge.

Create community by sharing experiences.

The Essence

Cocina Cultural is more than dining it’s an invitation.

An invitation to eat, to learn, and to cook.

Here, every dish is shared, every lesson is shared, every story is shared.
